Lampshade Books Carnival: 2021

Update: The event will not take place on July 18, 2021.

Public Libraries and Reading Spaces are venues for exchanging ideas, reading books, and hold intellectually stimulating conversations. But in our country, which has a rich tradition of oral narratives, literature and poetry, there is a dearth of these spaces. There is no point in talking of the unfortunate incidents that caused this. But what is the way forward? How can we as a section of concerned citizens work on this issue? And, we, at Lampshade Writers, want to facilitate this conversation.

And how? In 2021, people from the space of Libraries, Books, Reading Spaces will share their journey, stories on what they are doing to keep their work going on.

The conversations will take place on Zoom.

Who are the speakers?

Satyanand V of Date a Book Library, Secunderabad, will speak about the journey of how a passion to keep a dying library alive nudged him to take on a library with the help of his family and the community around.

Nalini NandaKumar of Our Sacred Space, Secunderabad, will speak about being a Librarian and the importance of books and the need of the hour is reading and passing the books on.

Please fill this form to register. Please come along with your thoughts and opinions. The entry fee is 100 INR and the funds will be diverted to Rangbhoomi in Hyderabad.
