Love in Covid Times
by Shekhar Jha

When world has lost meaning
Or has actually found
ethereal rhymes
Yes there has been
abundance of love
In covid times

Or when did you see
The never known neighbor glee
On catching you yawning
On your balconee(y)

Or for few
though not for me
Work and(from) home
Together we

Though childhood suffered
As no grounds no park
Seldom we missed the
Inbuilt spark
For some turned out artist
Some turned out cook
Some came out of comfort
Though yes toll they took

I saw people grow
Humanity glow
And the affection and together
In pain all did chime
Yes there has been
abundance of love
In Covid times.

The Searching Eyes
by Divya Murarka

They said she had eyes which kept searching,

Searching for her mom amidst the stars,
Searching for a friend amongst the crowd,
Searching for her mate along the sea shore,
Searching for her soul when she had lost all hope,
Searching for love in this whole wide world.

Did she find anything out there?
Oh Yes, she did, and do you know where?

She found unconditional love at the botton of her heart,
She found bliss in all that she did,
She found pure joy in her own creation,
She found her soul in all that she was,
She found herself at dusk.

The attraction
by Ashritha Damera

They walk with each other,
Come what may, obstacles or harsh weather,
Through thick and thin,
Roots of their attraction, deep within ,
They never leave their side,
On brightest summer days or darkest winter nights,
No science nor God, can break them apart,
Mindsets reversed, only then love departs,
Revenge at extremes, sets in,
Move far apart, reverse scene,
Old mindsets back again,
Then their old love, they regain,
A big foot comes,
They forget their bonds,
Till then I mused, they were superior to mortal humanity,
Not faithless, not greedy but trustworthy,
When there was a another one stronger,
They exposed their lowly human nature,
Guess who are they?
They are those little magnets,
Fiddled by my brother,
Those little shoots of love blossomed out,
Like plants emerging from concrete sprout,
When nourished with time during lockdown,
When the eye met what was around.

Love in Times of Covid
by Dipen Jallan

Pandemic shook the foundations of mankind,
We became lost, found, broken & whole,
Such was the power of the disease,
But love surpassed it all.

Covid brought death,
Unimagined, untimely & sorrowful;
Death did us part,
But love keeps the dead alive in my heart.

Covid brought time,
For the ones stuck at home;
To spend with family & friends,
Board games, good food & memories to cherish,
And love made us realize,
Career & ambitions are just a nutshell;
Loving the loved ones is what matters in the end.

Covid brought hardships,
The one's fighting against it became warriors,
Battling an unknown virus;
But love, made us realize the importance,
Of a so called mere 'nurse';
Of a neglected maid,
Of a despised watchman,
Just when we had to do every chore,
Love made us respect these people even more.

There was one more kind of love,
That brought skillion newborns into this world;
The unmarried, vowing for eternal love,
And the married, welcoming a new born;
Indeed love comes in many forms,
While we were tried and tested at all points,
Love kept us intact, love kept us sane,
Love is the reason we are alive,
Love, everyday is winning through our lives.

Love in the Time of Corona
by Ananya Sarkar

A shroud of darkness engulfed the world
Thick and dense in fear
Slowing down time,
Calming the quickened heartbeat gradually
And wafting in the smell of roses.
It brought dear ones nearer
And strangers too.
The ball of hustle and business rolled into a corner
Forgotten.
And in its place the newfound sapling reared its head
From the crevice of the broken brick wall.
Does it always take the end of the world
To discover love?
Love...not that passionate frenzy that's gone in a whiff
But the soothing balm that makes you feel like home
Blurring the boundaries of all places alike...
Perhaps.
But at this moment, still your thoughts
Let this darkness nurture you and me
Into the ocean of we.

Love in the Time of Corona
by Divya Sahithi

The bright sphere hides itself,
The curtains of white fluff shield her shine,
For she yearned to see her son, the moon,
Their meets were a rare occasion,
For her, Blessing in disguise, this pandemic,
The wall of smoke fell,
And cleared their sight,
She pours out her love through her rays,
The vast meadows absorb her love along,
They sing in joy and lament her plight,
The son sparkles as he sees his vitalizer,
Opposite yet so much in common,
They share a moment and part away.

My Choice
by Shrey Rodricks

It was declared
There is a virus in the air,
To attack all humans
Unbiased, unhindered, unrelenting.

What did one know
How a virus looks or behaves?
With no form or colour,
An invisible invader.

All left to imagination,
Conjuring fear in our hearts and home.
Fear of the unknown and unseen,
Wreaking havoc with minds of all.

Scared to venture out and meet
Our neighbours, friends and relatives,
A distressing emotion aroused the
Imminent danger that was around.

Then it dawned on one and all,
Arousing our faith and resilience,
That it’s our life and world,
Nothing is more powerful, so hold.

Hold on to life and appreciate.
Live, rejoice, build and create.
Look inside yourself and find
A whole new world of it’s kind.

In kind, began my journey on a level refined,
Metaphysical, spiritual and divine.
Embracing all around me with love,
I chose to find good reason to endure.

Living with myself aroused my intellect
Reading, writing, not to neglect.
My passion for painting found new beginnings,
Oh, I was playing this wonderful new innings.

Sharing my writings and paintings,
Creating new bonds of love and longings,
Each special day friends looked forward to,
As my creativity added to their joy too!

Living with intent, owning my actions,
Chores and hobbies- both getting attention,
I loved the two years of pandemic strife
And wish to maintain this way of life.
